Privacy Policy

Role Ready ("Role Ready," "we," "us") helps you generate tailored resumes from a job description and your own experience history. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Profile and experience data you enter. Your profile fields (title, location, links) and the experience entries you create in the Journal — including any content you paste, type, or import from a resume.
  • Generation content. The job descriptions or URLs you submit, the generated resumes and analysis, and any edits you make.
  • Usage data. Basic, anonymized analytics about which pages you view, collected via Vercel Analytics. No third-party advertising trackers are loaded.

How we use your information

  • To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
  • To run the resume generation pipeline. Your profile, experience entries, and the job description you submit are sent to Google Gemini as part of a single prompt so the model can synthesize a tailored resume.
  • To fetch the contents of a job-posting URL through the public r.jina.ai reader proxy so we can convert it to text.
  • To show you your past generations and let you edit them.
  • To operate and improve the service (debugging errors, monitoring performance).

Third parties we share data with

  • Google Cloud / Google AI Studio (Gemini).Prompt contents — your profile, entries, and job description — are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the resume. Google's use of submitted data is governed by their Gemini API terms.
  • r.jina.ai.When you paste a URL, that URL is fetched through Jina's public reader service.
  • Vercel. Our hosting provider. Vercel processes requests and stores anonymized analytics on our behalf.
  • Our database host. Profiles, experience entries, and generation records are stored in a managed Postgres database.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

Data retention

Your account, profile, entries, and past generations are retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete entries and jobs from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete the data you've entered at any time from within the app. If you are in a jurisdiction with additional rights (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), contact us and we will honor requests to access, port, or delete your data.

Security

We use industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS) for all traffic, store secrets and credentials in environment variables on our hosting platform, and limit database access to the application. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password on the Google account you sign in with.

Children

Role Ready is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. The "Effective" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent version.
